Charitable Donations

 

Cineplex Entertainment LP believes in supporting the community. Charitable organizations at both local and national levels are supported by a variety of means throughout the year. Currently the main focus of our Corporate support is directed to The United Way, The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation and Variety - The Children's Charity. Fundraising events in support of these charities are conducted regularly throughout the year where we raise hundreds of thousands of dollars.

 

At the local level, in each of our theatre communities, our employees regularly support local events to benefit the communities in which we operate. We are proud of our commitment to support the community and delighted to participate in a variety of worthwhile causes.

 

Requesting a Donation

 

We require all donation requests be made in writing and mailed or sent via fax to our offices at least 6 to 8 weeks in advance of the event. Please direct your correspondence to the attention of the Donations Committee. All requests must be on letterhead that includes the full name and mailing address of the charitable organization.

 

We also require:

The specific nature of your request The date of the event The complete mailing address and telephone number The charitable registration number and registered name

A detailed profile of the charity Details on how the donation will be used Whether or not a tax receipt will be issued for the donation.

Local Charity:

 

If your organization resides in a community where there is a Cineplex Odeon, Famous Players or Galaxy Cinema, please forward your donation request directly to the theatre manager following the criteria listed above. Theatre addresses are located in the "Theatres" section of this website.

 

National Charity:

 

If your organization pursues fundraising activities on a national level, please forward your request to our Head Office Donations Committee. Only National requests are reviewed at Head Office. Please note: all local requests must all be processed through your local theatre. They should not be sent to our Head Office.

Cineplex Entertainment applauds the tireless efforts of the many fundraisers seeking donations for their organizations across the country. Each request we receive is given careful consideration by a group of Cineplex Entertainment employees who volunteer to serve on the company's donations committee. While the committee tries to respond positively to as many charitable organizations as possible, given the many thousands of requests we receive annually, we regret we cannot contribute to all of them.
